Ambassador Competition

This could be you! An ambassador is a youth leader for our Agricultural Society and community, representing at various local events throughout the year. Competitors can be male or female, thus allowing all young people the chance to experience this wonderful program.  The program assists youth with improving public speaking skills, engaging in new experiences, leadership experience and it all looks fantastic on a resume.

Senior Ambassador (Ages 17+) (as of Aug.1st)

Junior Ambassador (Ages 9-13) (as of Labour Day)

Little Ambassador (Ages 6-8) (as of Labour Day)

Entry Deadline ~ September 5th, 2024

​

• Senior Ambassador is awarded a $2000 scholarship towards post-secondary education at the end of their reign

• Junior Ambassador is awarded a $350 towards an extracurricular activity at the end of their reign

• Little Ambassador is awarded a non-monetary gift to be awarded upon winning

• Contestants must reside within 18 KM of Lucknow
   

• Senior and Junior Contestants will be required to complete an interview ahead of the Opening Ceremonies, an impromptu question, and also prepare a 2-3 minute speech on a topic provided ahead of time.

• The Little Ambassador will be required to go up on stage and introduce themselves.  The winner will be decided by drawing a name from a hat and are required to be available during the rest of the Fair. 
   

• All Contestants must be available to carry out their duties during the fall fair. Ambassadors will also represent the Lucknow Agricultural Society at various functions within the community throughout the year.
   

• Senior and Junior Ambassadors have the opportunity to attend two district meetings of the OAAS (Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies), one in the fall and one in the spring.
   

• Senior and Junior Ambassadors also have the opportunity to attend the OAAS Convention in February in Toronto, and based on eligibility may compete in the CNE Ambassador Competition in August.
